Six women-owned Hampden small businesses go green with Clean Currents

State & local government officials applaud eco-friendly local businesses for switching to 100% clean renewable energy to cut greenhouse gas pollution.


BALTIMORE (September 19, 2007) – Clean Currents, LLC, a Maryland-based clean energy broker, today announced that it has brought together six popular women-owned small businesses in Baltimore’s Hampden retail district to switch their source of electricity to 100 percent wind power in an effort to reduce dangerous greenhouse gas emissions and encourage greater energy independence.
Clean Currents co-founder and president Gary Skulnik was joined by Maryland Comptroller Peter Franchot, State Senator Catherine Pugh, Delegate Barbara Robinson, Delegate Shawn Tarrant, City Councilmember Mary Pat Clarke, and representatives of Baltimore Mayor Dixon and City Council President Rawlings-Blake to applaud the eco-friendly Hampden businesses participating in the green power initiative:
